Dr. Slabbert earned his medical degree in 2003, earning his Bachelor degree in medicine and surgery in South Africa. Prior to relocating to Canada in 2010, he was a surgeon in Cape Town, where his passion for cosmetic and aesthetic surgery flourished. During his extensive 12-year practice in Northern British Columbia, he honed his skills in injectable facial aesthetics and body contouring. He is Board Certified through CBAM (Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine ) ,as well as being a fellow of CAAM (Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine). More recently he has done a fellowship through SMUC (Sport Medicine Ultrasound Canada) specializing in precision ultrasound-guided joint injection for acute and chronic joint and ligament pain. Dr. Slabbert actively contributes to healthcare leadership at local and provincial levels and currently serves as a clinical faculty member at UBC, where he imparts his knowledge to medical students and international graduates seeking to practice medicine in Canada.
